Registering at the library

You can register at the registration desk on the ground floor. In order to register you need your ID card and a document certifying preferential status (e.g. student card) and parental guarantee for children under 16 years.

Registration card:

All documents in the library (books, periodicals, multimedia, music and video material) are available for all visitors; they may be used in the library premises with a free registration card.

The free registration card does not give entitlement for borrowing, only to use the library. This card can be obtained at the registration desk; it is valid for one year and compulsory for all library visitors.

Reader’s card:

This entitles you to borrow books and periodicals as well as use the local history collection and the Internet. Registration fee: HUF 1000/year.

A 50% reduction is given to: persons on military service, students over the age of 16 with a valid student card, students, pensioners under 70 years, teachers, registered unemployed persons, persons receiving income support.

Persons exempt from payment of the registration fee:persons over 70 years of age, under 16, library, archive and museum employees, persons with a 67% or higher hearing or sight impairment, the physically disabled.

Special reader’s card:

It is necessary to obtain a special reader’s card to borrow items from the music and video collection as well as books and periodicals. Special reader’s card fee:HUF 3400/year for all persons + the HUF 1000 for the reader’s card.
