The reference library and reading area situated on the 2^nd floor above the lending library area offers a quiet and comfortable environment for readers who wish to study or do research, with 32 individually lit workstations and desks suitable for using portable computers. Here you can find the most important basic works and reference books in nearly all fields of knowledge. We are especially proud of our rich history and ethnography collection. Readers who like to admire nature photographs and reproductions are also welcome here: these nicely bound volumes and fine art albums are kept on separate shelves.

Using the reference library

Books from the reference library may only be borrowed with the librarian’s permission and only for periods when the library is closed.

These books may be borrowed from 17:30 p.m. on Tuesdays or 12:30 on Saturdays, and they must be returned at 9:00 on Thursdays or 9:00 on Mondays.

On other days books from the reference library may be borrowed from 18:00 until 9:00 on the following day.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

We provide computers with special programs for the blind and partially sighted.
