What is in the collection?

Local history documents relating to the town of Gödöllő and the settlements situated along the river Galga.

Books: monographs, biographies, publications on factory and school history, yearbooks, source-publication, bibliographies, statistical documents, art albums, dissertations, fiction associated with Gödöllő or written by authors from Gödöllő.

Newspapers, magazines, journals: daily and weekly publications issued in Gödöllő since the turn of the 19^th century: Gödöllő és Vidéke [Gödöllő and Environs] 1898-1934, Gödöllői Hírlap [Gödöllő News] 1909-1915; 1928-1944 on CD-ROM, Pest Megyei Hírlap [Pest County News] since 1953, original copies of local press products since 1980.

Collection of clippings: articles published about Gödöllő in the national press since 1991.
Leaflets: brochures, pamphlets, posters, invitations, exhibition catalogues
Pictures: picture postcards since the turn of the 19^th century, photographs of town events on CD.
Records of the meetings of the body of representatives of Gödöllő since 1989.

About the use of the Gödöllő collection

The Gödöllő collection can be used only by visitors with a valid reader’s card, and the documents may not be borrowed.

Scout Library and Archives

The library and the protected archives of the Hungarian scouts, the collection of the Association of Hungarian Scouts was placed in the Municipal Library and Information Centre of Gödöllő in the Spring of 2009. The exceptionally rich and valuable collection comprises not just the documents of scout history but all the publications of the resurgent Hungarian scout movement and all the documents from the Hungarian scout associations all over the world collected by the Association of Hungarian Scouts. The library received the material of the Scouts Archives expertly digested and set. An accession register about the books and a title list of the periodicals are available. The library received the small prints thematically grouped but non-digested. The cataloging and the professional digesting is in progress and will be a several years long process. The Scout Library is constantly thriving with the patrol diaries, photoalbums, documents kept by souts within and over the borders, who have sent the documnets to the library which is awaiting and welcoming scouts documents. The Scout Library and Archives are open for the visitors and researchers.
